Spectacular Sunset Cirrus, June 19th
After a mostly clear, breezy day, we were lucky enough to get a band of thin cirrus moving in as a weather system approached from the southwest.
As the sun went down, the sky didn't look anything special, albeit a pleasant enough sunset:
But, a few minutes later, the Sun had lowered enough to render the sky in a 3D landscape of layered cirrus. The colours became more intense at the same time:
A wider view shows the spectrum of colours. For a few short minutes, there was a whole range from deep blue to red, orange and yellow:

Finally the scene at it's peak before fading slowly over the next 15minutes or so. Pretty much the only 'interesting' weather this week, certainly the most photogenic:
