USA Storm Chase 2018

Day 15: Ogallala, NE to Burlington, CO

Storms today didn't really play ball. The first ones of the day went up near Arapahoe, CO. Visually, they weren't very spectacular but they did provide some nice 'gustnadoes', one of which hit our cars (see 4th pic below as it head towards us). We also got some pea-sized hail and very close CGs as we drove through them:

Skies looked menacing, with some dark mammatus over Arapahoe:

Just outside town we stopped to take photos of a rainbow on the back edge of the storms:

We waited near Burlington, CO for storms to get their act together but unfortunately it wasn't to be. Another nice rainbow though:

Finally, we gave up and headed to Kanorado (can you guess which border this town is on?) to watch the sunset colours, after which we called it a day:
