Day 10: Liberal, KS to Childress, TX
This was the last day of Tour 1, so we had to make our way back to Dallas for change over day the following day. It was hot(90s°F) but some storms were forecast to pop up along the route so we'd go after them if we saw anything significant.
We entered back in to Texas just before lunch, which we had at the really nice small town of Canadian:
In the vicinity of Pampa, TX, the first 'turkey towers' started going up, with a couple of decent storms forming soon afterwards. We watched as one approached us and one was back to the north:
A few storms rumbled around for a bit but there was nothing really severe so we got in position behind one for some mammatus at sunset. We weren't disappointed! A fitting end to an excellent Tour 1:
