July 19th: Supercell Thunderstorm viewed from Beacon Hill, Leicestershire
Staying with relatives this week, several storms affected near home on the south coast, but most avoided the Midlands where I was! On the 19th a few isolated storms occurred in parts of the south, with a couple showing signs of being supercells. This particular storm persisted several hours with strong rotation but no tornadoes or funnels reported. Ths storm had a huge anvil, stretching almost 100 miles upwind from the base, which I couldn't see from my location, and was located somewhere over north Oxfordshire during these photos.
