April 7th: Evening Anvils, Nr Brockenhurst
The convection that gave rise to the earlier hailstorm continued into the evening, giving some more photo opportunities. Here a line of heavy showers just to the north of Brockenhurst:
A distant shower viewed from underneath a developing cumulus with scud:
A wider view of the above cloud, nothing special but the backlighting gave it more drama:
A clearance in the lower cloud allowed a spectacular view of the departing anvil from the previous showers. It dominated the NE sky:
Finally, a perfectly positioned, isolated cumulonimbus as the sun went down:
