February 8th: Mammatus, English Channel

This was an unusual day. Whilst most of the country was experiencing cold weather, with deep snow in places, we were enjoying relatively mild weather with some heavy showers. This impressive mammatus display occurred around lunchtime over the English Channel, and was some of the best I've seen.

The cloud had impressive structure from afar too, here seen hovering over the Isle of Wight.
