Farnborough International 2008 (part 3)

After the Typhoon was the F-16. An old jet, but still impressive:

Next up was the F/A-18, with perhaps the best display of the day:

This was followed by the brand new Aermacchi M-346 advanced trainer:

Next up were the Royal Navy 'Black Cats' with two Lynx helicopters:

These were followed by the Blades display team and then the mighty Vulcan once again. I took some video of the take-off and parts of the display as the sound and sight is not fully appreciated in pictures alone:

On the flying display list, a USAF B-1B was due to do arrive at 1300. However, it didn't show up until 1615, and put on just two high and relatively slow flypasts. Most people thought it was pretty pointless:

As usual the diaplay ended with the Red Arrows which seem to get better every year:

A good, if busy, day out which I'll probably skip next time (2010). Not enough new and exciting aircraft appear every show, so less often is probably best.
