RIAT 2012 (Part 3)
According to the commentators, this is a rare sight; a US F/A-18 'Super Hornet' lining up on the same runway as a Russian Mig-29 'Fulcrum':
The Mig-29 was from the Polish Air Force, and this was the first time I've seen one at RIAT since 2006. A traditionally smokey take-off from those powerful engines:
The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight once again put on a stirling display:
The Patrouile Suisse display team from Switzerland with their noisy take-off. I recorded video of the display, so I only have take-off and landing shots of them:
One of the team members was leaving this year, so they put on an unusual show by taxiing through water and briefly generating smoke on the ground:
Next was the RAF 'Role Demo' with two Tornado GR4s simulating an attack on an enemy airfield:
The final display of the day was an RAF Typhoon:
