International Air Fair, Biggin Hill (part 3)
The Bleriot XII took to the sky next, from the grass beside the runway. It was airborne in just 100ft or so, due to it's light weight:
Another rare aircraft, the Royal Navy Sea Hawk, originally in service in the 1950s:
The Chinook made another appearance, this time doing a full display. Only the one shot of this as I videoed most of it:
An aircraft I hadn't seen display before was the Douglas DC-6. This example was in perfect condition, and it was thrown around the sky like a modern jet:
The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight were up next with the Lancaster Bomber, one of only 2 left flying today. Photography was hard in the strong sunlight with a dark plane, but I got 1 shot:
A North American F-86 Sabre display followed, a typical 1950s jet fighter with plenty of smoke from it's old engine:
